Carl D. Perkins students and staff go to the dogs……and cats!

September 28th, 2014

Saturday September 27, Carl D. Perkins students and staff volunteered their time to ensure that the Free Pet Clinic held in Martin, Ky by Dr. Chandra Varia, physician at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Martin, Ky went off without any problems, so the  hundreds of dogs and cats that showed up with their proud owners , could get the services that were being offered free of charge. Security and Protective Services (SPS) class and their instructor Beverly Compton, along with CTT Manage Jerry Tackett, Culinary students and BCL Jimmie Slone helped out at the  event. Students directed traffic, parking, assisted the crowd and their pets, Culinary students served breakfast.  Students also got time during their breaks to enjoy playing with the many different breeds of dogs and talking with their owners.

Their was also a pet parade, treats for the pets, and free health screenings for the pet owners.
