Carl D. Perkins students life long dream becomes reality thanks to Job Corps.

Thor Finnegan, 19 year old Security & Protective Services students from Warsaw, KY arrived at the Perkins Job Corps Center on June 10, 2014.  Thor began immediately panning his work and working his plan, which was  becoming a United States Marine. Thor worked and completed his High School Diploma, Security & Protective Services trade, Work based Learning at the Prestonsburg Fire Dept., while also doing all of the necessary physical conditioning that needed to be successful in the testing for the marine corps.

Just  nine  months later, Thor will be leaving on  February 16th, for basic training to become a United States Marine.  Thor states “If not for the Perkins Job Corps Center, I would still be home setting on the couch doing nothing with my life”.
