Carl D. Perkins students put a sparkle back in the lake.

Carl D. Perkins students took to the water on Saturday September 27th, with the US Army Corps of Engineers and other volunteers on the Jenny Wiley State Park, in celebration of National Public Lands day. Students and the Rangers worked through the morning fog, to clean up trash and other debris along the lake shore of the scenic state park.

This is no new project for the Perkins students as they work several times a year with Jenny Wiley  and the park rangers in efforts to keep the lake free of trash, so others are able to enjoy the year round beauty of the lake. Perkins students also do Work Based Learning (WBL) at the park year round, working in the kitchen at the lodge, special events, facilities maintenance, and carpentry.

Just another example of the Perkins commitment in always helping and giving back to the community.
