Charleston Job Corps Participates in Job Shadow Day

The Charleston Job Corps Center (CJCC) operating under Horizons Youth Services (HYS), participated in National Groundhog Job Shadow Day on Monday, February 3, 2019.  CJCC student’s job shadowed at the State of West Virginia Governor’s Office( R-WV),  Charleston Housing Authority, WV Telcomm, and two student’s shadowed our Center Director, Angela Rackley “Once again, we are excited to have our congressional district staff  and Community Relations Council Members partner with us for National Groundhog Job Shadow Day.” Student participants included Aaron Long, Angel Morales, Daniel Eadie,  Angel Ellison, and Jewel Powell.  Angel Morales was extended and invitation for full time employment. National Groundhog Job Shadow Day is a national campaign that gives young people a new perspective on their studies through hands-on learning and a one-day mentoring experience. Charleston Job Corps Center students look forward to this event and benefit by gaining valuable participating in business meetings, displaying professionalism and receiving professional mentoring. A special thanks to everyone that participated in this event. Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16-24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. The Charleston Job Corps Center is overseen by the Philadelphia Regional Office of Job Corps and is operated by Horizons Youth Services.
