Charleston Job Corps Center, April Student Highlight-Amanda Sanders

CJCC April Student Success Story-Amber Sanders local WV Student

Amber Sanders has completed her career technical training in Office Administration under the tutelage of James Brown, Instructor. She is a resident of Dunbar, WV and lived in the area since 2016. Amber enrolled in the program January 26, 2018.

Prior to her enrollment she worked in retail as a cashier. She wanted to come to Job Corps because, “I wasn’t ready for college at the time. I wanted hands-on training for a career” said Sanders. She came with her GED from Pinellas Tech in Clearwater, FL. Sanders was recognized with certificates and trade apparel at the Monday Business Meeting, April 16, 2018 for achieving the following certifications:

IC3
• Key Applications
• Living Online
• Computing Fundamentals

Microsoft Office Specialist
• Office Word 2013
• Office PowerPoint 2013
• Microsoft Excel 2013

Sanders said, “I want more structure and to better myself.” She enlisted in the U.S. Army on March 20 and will leave for basic training May 22, 2018. Her future plans include furthering her education in childhood education and becoming a foster parent. Her words of wisdom to Job Corps students is “Stay focused on what you came to do. Give it your all! If you fall down by failing a test; retake it and get back up. I made it and you can too.” CJCC Congratulates Amber Sanders!
