Charleston Job Corps Center, Career Services Dept. Hosts Job Fair-Jan. 21, 2015

The Charleston Job Corps Center (CJCC) operated by Horizons Youth Services (HYS), hosted a center wide job fair for students on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 sponsored by the Career Services Department. Ms. Dawnetta Courts, CPP/CTR organized the fair. Eastbrook, a 184-bed, long-term, skilled nursing facility located in Charleston, WV conducted interviews on the spot. They were recognized in July 2014 at the Community Relations and Center Industry Council Joint Meeting for hiring CJCC students and providing work based learning opportunities.

The following companies participated in the Job Fair include WV Division of Personnel, Mancan, US Army, South Central Regional Jail, Modern Woodmen, IBEX Global, Monarch Hotels, Eastbrook, Labor Ready, Tyler Mountain Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, Human Resource Development Foundation, WV CTS, Kanawha County Schools, Cintas, ResCare, WV State University and Bob Forte Staffing. All participating companies are currently hiring and look forward to working with Job Corps students and potential candidates for employment.

Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16-24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. The Charleston Job Corps Center is overseen by the Philadelphia Regional Office of Job Corps and is operated by Horizons Youth Services.
