CJCC Hosts Military Service Leadership Day

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Charleston Job Corps Center (CJCC) conducted its 2nd annual Military/Service Leadership Day, March 16, 2016 hosted by the Career Service Department. The event was organized by Rosalyn Cary, Career Transition Readiness to expose students to the benefits of enlisting in the military upon completion of the program.

Recruiters provided information to students regarding various service and military options available. Today’s attendees included the U.S. Army, U.S. Marines, U.S. Air Force, Army National Guard, AmeriCorps, WV State College Jr. ROTC program and the Charleston Police Department. The center welcomes the military and service providers to attend recruiting events and provide opportunities for students within their career pathways.

Nationally, Job Corps has a longstanding relationship with the military by providing students who are employable, educated and skilled to enlist in various branches. The center offers ASVAB testing, military presentations and tours to recruitment offices on a continuous basis. In addition to receiving military and service information, students enjoyed games and activities sponsored by the recreation department. Staff member Katrina Saunders worked her skills cooking on the grill for attendees. A special thanks to all students and staff for their teamwork
