CJCC Kindness Week-Ms. Bernice Johnson receives a hug from Nathan Wilson

The Charleston Job Corps Center operated by Horizons Youth Services kicks off Kindness Week during Monday Business Meeting. Y2Y Ambassador Robert Battice announced the purpose and read suggested acts of kindness.

Here are a few ideas:

*Promote positive energy in your interactions with others
*Perform a random act of kindness for someone, like holding open a door or offering a nice compliment
*Text a friend and tell them how much you appreciate their friendship
*Write a positive note to a student or staff who has helped you
*Contact a local organization and volunteer
*Call someone you love and tell them how much they mean to you
*Organize a cleanup party on center or in your local community
*Look for ways to carry out kindness daily, and ask your peers to do the same
*Resist the urge to complain and be thankful for all you have

This is a great way to spread peace and encourage tolerance on center and in your community. The week is Sponsored by Y2Y and S.A.D.D. (Students Against Destructive Decisions).
