Charleston Job Corps Center supports YMCA Mel Wolf Child Dev. Center-May 2017

YMCA Mel Wolf Child Development Center, Garden Boxes

The YMCA-Mel Wolf Child Development Center recently received a grant to start a garden for the children at its local daycare facility. The center was able at its local daycare facility. The center was able to purchase all the materials and obtain a garden specialist for the project, but needed assistance with building the garden boxes. That’s when the carpentry students at Charleston Job Corps stepped in, creating the new garden boxes. The Mel Wolf Child Development Center couldn’t be more pleased.

Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16-24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. Job Corps is in 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. The Charleston Job Corps Center is overseen by the Philadelphia Regional Office of Job Corps and is operated by Horizons Youth Services.
