Charleston Job Corps Opens COVID-19 Testing Site

Charleston Job Corps opens COVID-19 testing site to provide student testing prior to entrance on center.

Charleston Job Corps uses proactive measures to avoid the possibility of future exposure to center staff and students.  A Pre-Built building has been installed and will be used for the sole purpose of COVID-19 testing upon student arrival.  The center’s Maintenance department, installed insulation, electric, flooring and paneling and our carpentry student’s built an entrance ramp to allow safe entry.  The testing site sits on the far end of the main parking lot.  By installing a stand alone testing site, Charleston Job Corps is attempting to avoid any direct contact or possible exposure from returning students.

The fourth cohort of students arrived on March 9th, in center vans and personal vehicles and were the first to use the new testing site.  Each student was tested and upon completion, directed to the dorm to begin their 14 day quarantine period.

Charleston Job Corps feels that the implementation of this new testing site is yet, another layer of protection for our staff and students.
