CJCC Scores a Win!

The Charleston Job Corps Center (CJCC) operating under Horizons Youth Services (HYS) scored a victory for the basketball team. The Golden Panthers played a double header on Saturday, October 29 2011. The first game was against Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Center, Prestonsburg, Kentucky. The Golden Panthers team leaders Frederick Amey, who led the team with 17 points and Lamond Law who led the team with 10 points to a CJCC victory 80 to 78 final score.

This is the first win for the Golden Panther basketball team who are members of the Riverside League, Charleston WV. “I think we have a lot of skilled players our main focus is to learn how to play organized basketball and being a disciplined player and within a month we have seen a change in character, personality and them being a better student at Job Corps,” stated Coach Brittany Lowe, CJCC Counselor. The next two scheduled games are Thursday, November 3, 2011 and Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the center gymnasium.
