CJCC Volunteers with City of Charleston for Safe Trick or Treat-Oct. 30, 2014

The Charleston Job Corps Center (CJCC) operating under Horizons Youth Services (HYS) were requested to assist the City of Charleston with safe Trick or Treat night at the Kanawha City Community Center (KCCC) on Thursday, October 30, 2014. The City of Charleston observes Trick or Treat the night before Halloween which is Oct. 31 to create a safer night for children in the community.

Student Volunteers passed out candy to a host of Ninjas, Princesses, Cowboys and such throughout the center. KCCC hosted this event as an alternative to being out in the street to keep children safe. Student participates include Samantha Bercik, Ahzeem Brown, Chelsea Courson, Justin Davis, Na Jai Dawson, Tamara Evans, Jaquai Felton, Monica Garcia-Gonzalez, Brenda Hockensmith, Tony Uchenna Ike, Loritta King, Tearaha Smith-Lane, and Ceirah Stokes accompanied by Tia Welch, Business Community Liaison.
