The Charleston Job Corps Center operating under Horizons Youth Services welcomes local mayors on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 for a Mayor’s Informational Breakfast with center staff. Mayors in attendance were the Honorable Dick Callaway, City of St. Albans, Honorable Rusty Casto, City of Nitro and Deputy Mayor Rod Blackstone, City of Charleston . The purpose of the meeting was to share information with the local mayors on center changes, requirements, and opportunities for WV youth to take advantage of the academic and career technical training offered at the center. Mayor’s and center staff are willing to work together to engage students in opportunities for work based learning and community service projects in the local area. All Mayors are encouraged to become members of the Charleston Job Corps Center’s, Community Relations Council which meets quarterly and serves as goodwill ambassadors for our program. A tour was also provided.
