CJCC HOST WARD 8 ROUNDTABLE MEETING
WIRE-Net and Councilman Michael Polensek have been working to build stronger engagement and connectivity be-tween business stakeholders in the Coit/Kirby industrial corridor of Cleveland’s Ward 8. Quarterly roundtables with area businesses offer an opportunity to connect with resources that can support business growth in the corridor, as well as discuss and resolve any potential issues. WIRE-Net is a non-profit economic development organization dedicated to improving the community through nurturing manufacturing jobs and prosperity that come with it.
On February 27, 2015 the Cleveland Job Corps Center (CJCC) hosted a roundtable meeting for the group. Company leaders from the corridor were welcomed by the CJCC Center Director, William Houston, and his staff. Mr. Houston provided an over-view of the broad range of training and education programs offered at the CJCC to the roundtable attendees. For many of the companies, the roundtable meeting provided them the opportunity to finally visit and learn more about the CJCC. “We have a broad range of training resources in our community working to deliver skilled talent to our businesses. We are grateful for the opportunity to showcase Job Corps capabilities and help employers find ways to connect with them and other regional workforce training resources,” says WIRE-Net Vice President for Workforce Development, Michael Hoag who organized the event. We appreciate their partnership
