Cleveland Job Corps Making the Grade

The Cleveland Job Corps Center has a long-tenured partnership with the Cuyahoga Community College that provides advanced career training for Cleveland Job Corps students. This excellent partnership between Cleveland Job Corps and Cuyahoga Community College provides an opportunity for eligible Job Corps students to enroll and receive either supplemental services while pursuing an Associate Degree at TRI-C Community College designated as Advanced Career Training (ACT), or career technical training at Off-Center Training (OCT); allowing students the opportunity to advance their education in multiple career pathways, and to broaden career technical training opportunities available to Job Corps students.

The Cleveland Job Corps Center is proud to recognize the outstanding work of three students who concluded the Fall 2017 semester at Cuyahoga Community College with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Stacy Smiley is in the Integrated System Engineering program and with a 3.77 GPA, made the Dean’s List. He also received an invitation for a scholarship grant from Phi Theta Kappa for his academic achievements. Shianne Jeffer is in the Early Childhood Development Program at Cuyahoga Community College and has a 3.33 GPA. Kayla Carter is in Cuyahoga Community College’s Nursing Program and has a 3.37 GPA.
