On August 17th, New Avenues and Mrs. Kylene Jennings, Healthcare Cluster Manager created a new Memo of Understanding to provide work based learning experiences to Cleveland Job Corps’ healthcare students at their vocational training site. While completing their work experience at Buckeye Industries, Cleveland East, students have an opportunity to develop leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Under the direction of Larry Hinton, Project Manager, these students spend the day interacting with participants of the program and learning the skills necessary to work with individuals with disabilities. Mrs. Jennings stated “New Avenue is so impressed with the Job Corps students and their level of professionalism that they want them to work at two additional sites within the Cleveland area”. Congratulations Mrs. Jennings on creating such a meaningful work experience for the healthcare students.
