Cleveland Job Corps New Work-Based Learning Partnerships

Cleveland Job Corps Center (CJCC) is proud to announce their new Work-Based Learning partnerships with the following companies:

Inspiring Lives Forever (ILF) Transportation provides non-emergency transportation, delivery, courier and logistics management services that expand across the United States. CJCC students will be placed in office management, customer service and the call center. They will acquire skills in work-place leadership and how to handle conflict resolution in an ethical manner.

Apples of Gold Child Care affords quality and dependable childcare services to the local community. CJCC signed an agreement that will offer our students a chance to gain experience, develop employability and social skills at any of their three childcare locations. The new partnership will enable CJCC student to work alongside the staff of Apples of Gold Child Care to provide quality care and education to infants, toddlers, preschool and school aged children.

AngelliCare Inc. offers around the clock non-medical care for their clients in the comfort of the client’s home. They assist individuals with chronic illnesses and aging adults with everyday activities clients need to function. CJCC Home Health Aid students will provide assistants to clients with serving light meals, bathing, light cleaning and companionship.

Fairfax Place is a family owned and operated 100 bed skilled nursing facility that provides skilled nursing, independent living assistance, rehabilitation services and home health aide to Fairfax Health Care Center (skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility), Fairfax Estates (independent and assisted living), and Fairfax Place at Home (home health care agency). The company recently signed an agreement with the CJCC to create a working relationship in which our students will learn a wide variety of skills that will make them competitive in today’s medical industry. Their goal is to provide a continuum of care, focusing on the betterment of the senior community.

Work-Based Learning (WBL) opportunities prepare students for high-skilled, high wage careers by forming employer partnerships that aid students in making a successful transition from training to the workplace. Students can connect the vocational skills they learned in the classroom to a real work environment. Each of our WBL students will receive training and instruction that will help them complete their Training Achievement Record (TAR) that ensures they obtain the necessary skills to complete graduation requirements.

CJCC Career Technical Training Manager Kylene Jennings, and her team, have been very instrumental in helping students find quality internship experiences. They have done an exemplary job establishing several WBL connections within the community. “Way to Go…CJCC Health Cluster!”
