Cleveland Job Corps Student Success Story

JaVaughn received his High School Diploma in 2012, from Rogers High School. Tired of working dead-end jobs he sought the counsel of his mother who encouraged him to apply to Job Corps.

He enrolled in Cleveland Job Corps’ Advanced Career Training (ACT) program at Cuyahoga Community College to study Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). JaVaughn received the College Student of the Month award for April and May, and he has also held the Student Government Association President, Vice President, and Treasurer positions.

JaVaughn is employed as a Medical Transporter at TLC Transit. He plans to continue studying to be a Paramedic and then enroll in the Fire Academy. JayVaughn’s plans have never changed since the first day he enrolled into Job Corps, he always wanted to help people by being an Emergency Medical Technician. “Job Corps made me realize that you never achieve success alone, there is always someone rooting for you to succeed,” stated JaVaughn who contributes much of his success to several of the staff at Cleveland Job Corps Center.
