Local Clevelander, Ta’mia Long, was sixteen-years-old when she began cutting class and partying; and eventually dropped out of school when she was seventeen. One day while talking to her dad he told her about Job Corps.

Ta’mia enrolled in the Cleveland Job Corps Center on March 18, 2017, to pursue career training and her High School Diploma. Not only did Ta’mia earn her High School Diploma from Penn Foster, but she also completed the Medical Office Support and Nursing Assistant trades.

During Ta’mia’s work-based learning assignment, she met Rogers Home Care hiring manager who was so impressed with her that she hired her as a Home Health Aide. In January 2018, she successfully completed her training at the Cleveland Job Corps. Ta’mia plans to enroll in college and aspires to become a Registered Nurse. “I love being a home health aide and connecting with patients in the comfort of their homes, is amazing,” said Ta’mia.
