Cleveland Job Corps Student Success Story

“It is very important to ambitiously move forward with your training so that they can start profitable careers,” advises Tra-Dale Wade. The 17-year-old Youngstown, Ohio native began working as a Maintenance Technician at Grand Village Nursing Home in June.

Tra-Dale arrived at Cleveland Job Corps on June 12, 2017 and worked diligently to earn his High School Diploma from Penn Foster and Carpentry Certification. He also obtained Occupational Safety and Health Administration 10 (OSHA), Scaffold Safety, Green Awareness, Lead Awareness, and United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC) Pre-Apprentice Credentials. Tra-Dale served on the Student Government Association (SGA) Leadership as a Dorm Leader and participated in community service projects at the Cleveland Food Bank.

Tra-Dale graduated from the Cleveland Job Corps program on May 22, 2018. Tra-Dale credits SGA Coordinator, Tiffany Artis with keeping him focused, motivated, and busy so that he could continue moving forward. “She helped me be where I am today,” stated Tra-Dale. He will begin college this upcoming fall semester at Central State University and plans to major in Business Management.
