Cleveland Jobcorps TRI-C Technology Graduation

One of Cleveland’s notable features is its steel industry. Many of the materials needed for making steel such as rich de-posits of coal and low-grade iron ore are teeming in Cleveland. As a result of a partnership between the Cleveland Job Corps Center (CJCC) and Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C), the manufac-turing industry will be able to acquire more qualified candidates. Tri-C’s Ad-vanced Technology Academy and CJCC’s Off Center Training Program are part of an apprenticeship initiative supported by US Secretary of Labor, Thomas E. Perez. The two training facilities are part of a compre-hensive workforce initiative designed to prepare out-of-school youth for well-paying careers in technology-related fields with more advanced post-secondary training po-tential.
The partnership between Tri-C’s Advanced Technology Academy and CJCC’s Off Center Training Program was reinforced at Tri-C’s Fall 2015 graduation. In partner-ship with Tri-C, CJCC celebrated its first class of graduates in Welding and Ad-vanced Machine Operators. Please join us in congratulating the Class of 2015 gradu-ates: WELDING OPERATORS – Adebanjo Alatise, Anthony Brandy, Jon`elle Gwin, Daniel Tronsgard, Jeremaine Garrett, Christopher Prayear, Patrick Shaw, Tyrie Sloan, and MACHINE OPERATORS – Eric Henderson, Taja Nicholson and Jamia Woods. With this dynamic partnership, students receive training not only in advance technology skills, but also in academics and in the employability skills needed to get the job in this fast growing industry.
