Cleveland Student of the Week

Rachel Frye came to the Cleveland Job Corps Center (CJCC) on February 2, 2015. With a desire to help others and the fact that she has previous health aid experience, Frye decided to pursue State Tested Nurse Aide training. Frye began her train-ing on March 23, 2015, and completed the program on July 28, 2015. Frye took the State tested Nursing Assistant exam and passed both the written and skills portion. During Frye’s career exploration phase of the CJCC State Tested Nurse Aide trade, instructor Jameka Bloom recalls Frye exhibiting a strong work ethic. “She has always been an overachiever and a great moti-vator to her peers,” complimented instructor Bloom. Frye interviewed at Shaker Gardens Nursing Home where she was hired on the spot and began her work as-signment on August 10, 2015. Some of the Nursing Managers from Shaker Gar-den Nursing Home conveyed to her instructor they respect Frye’s hard work and dedication. She currently works six days a week and is trying to save enough money to obtain a place for her and her son. Her long term goal is to become a Registered Nurse and attend Kent State or Youngstown State University.
