Cleveland Y2Y Learning and Listening Session

The Cleveland Job Corps Center (CJCC) was among three Job Corps (JC) centers from the Chicago region invited
by the Job Corps National Office to attend a Youth 2 Youth (Y2Y) Listening & Learning Session in Washington,D.C., on January 20 and 21. CJCC was represented by Medical Assistant & Medical Office Support studentDiamond Kalber, Medical Office Support student
Erielle Minor, accompanied by Social Development Director,Woody Allen.The Listening & Learning Sessions were held at the Department of Labor Frances Perkins Building and hosted by the JC National DirectorLenita Jacobs-Simmons. The sessions provided student ambassadors the opportunity to update the National Director on how the centers were doing since
the launch of the spring 2015 Y2Y initiative. The aim of the sessions are an avenue for student ambassadors to acquire viable
resources and return to the center to supplement the Y2Y mission on center, and in the community. JC students and staff representatives from each of the centers communicated the positive effects they experienced on their centers as a result of the 2015 Y2Y initiative. Likewise, center representatives shared ideas and best practices on ending violence between each other.
