Cleveland Famicos Beautification Project

Cleveland Famicos Beautification Project

Famicos Foundation was created in 1969 with a mission to improve the quality of life in greater Cleveland through neighborhood revitalization, affordable housing and integrated social services. Our focus is the Glenville neighborhood in Cleveland Ohio and the primary mission is the creation and/or preservation of affordable housing coupled with revitalization strategies and integrated service delivery.  Famicos Foundation is committed to housing development and management, resident and neighborhood programs and services, resident leadership, and sustainability and wellness.

During the week of October 19, 2015, Famicos Foundation and the Cleveland Job Corps cleaned-up within our service area of the Glenville Community Ward 9. During this time we worked with residents, volunteer groups and organizations to increase engagement and keep our neighborhood clean. On the first day, we helped in street clean up, curb appeal and yard work. We focused our efforts around Superior Ave, Tecumseh Ct, Hathaway Ave, Olivet Ct., Olivet Ave. and Hampden Ave between E. 105th and Parkwood Drive.  On the second day, we focused our efforts around the Walter A. Burks Playground on Parkwood Drive. On the final day, we focused our efforts in engaging residents around the streets: Amor Ave, Greenlawn Ave, Columbia Ave, Gooding Ave, Earle Ave, Bryant Ave, Garfield Ave, Englewood Ave and Everton Ave.

The Famicos Foundation and the Cleveland Job Corps recently sign an MOU together to better serve our community. We will continue to work with them ongoing with projects such as: Clean-up, winterize Famicos gardens, Christmas party for the seniors, fence in garden at park village and light home repairs etc.
