Cleveland Job Corps Fifth District Police Community Relations Awards Ceremony

On October 21, 2015 the Chief of Police Calvin Williams and Commander Dennis Hill of the fifth district host their annual Police Community Relations Awards Ceremony at the Cleveland Jobs Corps. Well over three hundred community residents and police officers attended this annual awards dinner. In attendance was the City of Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson, Michael McGarth Director Department of Public Safety and Blain A. Griffin Executive Director of the Community Relations Board.   Their mission is to strengthen the bond between the men and women of the Cleveland Division of Police and the citizens they serve through support of youth and community outreach projects, programs and events, police charities, community policing initiatives, and investment in continued education, training, modernization of equipment, and advanced technology. Through our collective efforts, we make a difference in making our community safer and better place to live, work and play.  Commander Dennis Hill stated “What a privilege to take this opportunity to recognize the conscientious efforts of the member and community of the Fifth District on this annual event. The collaboration amongst police officers, community liaisons and citizens conclusively contributes to the mission of safety and security within our neighborhoods”.

Clevelanders who are committed to making safety a priority and who assisted the Cleveland Division of Police Fifth District were recognized for their service and dedication. Our very own security staff member Belinda Bray and her security cadets Jasmine McDonald, Laquan Johnson, Stephen Wolfe and Marcus Threm were recognized and give The Fifth District Community Relations Board Awards for outstanding service. Congratulations to Ms. Bray!
