On October 26,2013 Student Volunteers left their mark at the Annual Make a Difference Day an event that has been sponsor by USA Weekend Magazine and Point of Light for the past twenty years. This event is part of greater national community service movement aimed towards improving lives through education and awarness outreach concerning social issues,entertainment,health,food,travel. A portion of ur volunteers gave their service at Singleton Health Care Center, a local nursing home facility. The students spent the time there reading, playing card games, and serving lunch to the facility residents. Both the students and the seriors look forward to the visit each year. The second portion of volunteers lent their services to building of trellises and the maintenance of gardens in the Four Corners Orchard:a key part of initiative to have a fresh market placein the Central Kinsman Neighborhood. IN addition to of this, the students had the opportunity to learn about the importance of living healthy and well rounded lifestyle,highlighted by a presentation by Chef Pat LeGrand of the popular Food Network. We are grateful to be apart of Make a Difference Day here in Cleveland and look forward to continuing our community service impact throughout the year!
