Denison Job Corps Students Job Shadow

A job shadow experience during a student’s training can be an invaluable experience for the student to assist the student to put what they have learned in the classroom to a real life setting. That is exactly what the students in the Pharmacy Technician training program at the Denison Job Corps Center are doing. Greg Kehl, Tim Weber, and the Thrifty White Pharmacy staff have been assisting with the job shadow experience. While the students are at the pharmacy, they have the opportunity to practice the skills that they have learned in the classroom setting such as math skills, medication names, purposes including doses and side effects, as well as customer service skills.

The Pharmacy Technician training program is a new training program available to students. The program is expected to take approximately six months to complete. Once a student successfully completes the on center training program, the student will be eligible to test for the National Certification examination.
