Roadside — Looking Good thanks to Denison Job Corps
June 2nd, 2011
Community Service Project: For nearly 20 years the Denison Job Corps has cleaned up the roadside south of the Tyson plant close to Denison. The two mile stretch has allowed Denison Job Corps students to help this community and keep a very traveled portion of Highway 30 looking fresh. Twice a year, students and staff man themselves with gloves, reflective vests and lots of heavy duty plastic bags and the work begins. In only a couple of hours the roadside is renewed. The fifteen to twenty very large bags of garbage are picked up by the Department of Transportation. The energy of the students makes this work seem like a fun afternoon in the sunshine.
