Students from the Detroit Job Corps Center participated in the Future Warriors Youth Dialogue. The dialogue is an activity held the day before the Urban League of Detroit and Southeastern Michigan’s Salute to Distinguished Warriors Dinner. This is an inter-generational symposium that provides opportunities for high school students to interact with our honorees who are ages 65 years and older. Distinguished Warriors are individuals who have served the community unselfishly in the areas of human and civil rights. The Distinguished Warriors share their experiences and share their wisdom and advice to help students achieve success, as well as, learn how they can serve and make an impact in the community.

This year the keynote speaker at the dialogue was Lomas Brown. Mr. Brown is an 18-year NFL veteran. Mr. Brown is now an entrepreneur and motivational speaker that talked about how he transferred what he learned in athletics to the business field. Teamwork, tenacity, and perseverance to name a few. One of our students, Mr. Marjuan Jones, was selected to present to the entire group. He did a great job of conveying what he received from the dialogue with the Distinguished Warriors.
