Tivia Dallas a former Office Administration student who enrolled in the Edison Job Corps Academy in 2015 believes in the power of Job Corps. Life was challenging for Tivia, her mother recently had a stroke prior to enrolling in the program and she was working several dead end positions. Tivia realized  she needed a job training program to make positive changes in her life.

Tivia stated “ My life changed when I decided to take steps to help myself in my career. I wanted to learn about the skills needed to achieve success in the work place. Job Corps helped me to find myself and my career. Job Corps provided the foundation for my success.”

While attending the Edison Job Corps Academy she was often selected for leadership positions on center, Tivia was elected as Vice President of the Student Government Association. In addition, she provided leadership to the dormitories. She was actively involved with serving the community.

Tivia is currently working for Condulent company. She is utilizing her skills in office administration and is focused on furthering her career in the future.

Tivia started her story with only minimum wage positions. Due to the Job Corps program she has successfully carved out a pathway to success. Tivia gained independent living skills, structure and hope for a brighter future.
