A visit with US Senator Jack Reed

Exeter SGA students Cody Dutremble and Kenya Rivera participated in a special Ground Hog Job Shadow event at Senator Jack Reed’s office in RI on February 26th. During this visit they had the opportunity to talk with Senator Reed about their career goals and what they had accomplished at Job Corps. The students felt that this was an opportunity that many students wish they could partake in. Throughout the day they job shadowed with the Senator’s staff and they taught them things like how the senate runs and about a typical day on the job. They also learned about US Marshall jobs and they visited the RI Supreme Courthouse. What a great way to learn about RI History! At the end of the visit the students were honored to witness a very special ceremomy. A Veteran of the Vietnam War was awarded the Purple Heart by Senator Reed.
