Culinary Arts Students Serve As Hostesses For Senior Adults

On June 15, 2016, our Culinary Arts students, with Chef Crystal Dent, Culinary Arts Instructor, served as hostesses for the Council on Aging of Etowah County. Executive Director, Jennifer Garner, asked Chef Dent and our Culinary Arts students to help serve the 11th Annual Elder Abuse Awareness Day at the Gadsden Senior Activity Center. Eleven Culinary Arts students served over 60 senior adults and dignitaries of Etowah County with snacks and drinks and, at lunch time, served the Senior Adults with a box lunch with different types of juices. Our students went around to every table asking the senior adults if they needed anything such as coffee, water or etc. Mrs. Garner said our students were great hostesses because they have such a great attitude of servitude in what they do. In fact, Mrs. Garner gave the Culinary Arts Department a thank you letter and invited our students to be hostesses next year.
