Gadsden’s Security Students Visit Courtroom

2.25.16 The Security/MILCAP Students, Jordan Johnson and Deainera Etheridge were selected to participate in the Job Shadowing opportunity at the Etowah County Courthouse with Etowah County Circuit Judge Billy Olgetree. Judge Olgetree is a great supporter of Gadsden Job Corps and serve on the Community Relation Council at the Gadsden Job Corps Center. Judge Olgetree invited these students to his courtroom to observe a capital murder case and see what the process of all the responsibilities that a Judge has to do in a Capital Murder Case. Mr. Johnson and Ms. Etheridge were introduced to the attorneys on both side of the case. The Security Students were privilege to watch and observe the attorneys for the Prosecutor and the Defense as they gave their opening arguments. The Security Students observed all the court trauma of a murder case and all the decisions that a Judge has to make during a trial.
