Glenmont Celebrates Diversity- April Celebrated Religious Differences

Glenmont’s Diversity Committee helped staff and students celebrate Religious Differences around the world. Academics, Career Technical Training, Recreation and Residential teams developed a monthly calendar of events and educational programs around religious differences.

Glenmont student Mohamud Shego presented an informative PowerPoint about the Muslim holiday, Ramadan, during Glenmont’s weekly Virtual Business meeting. Staff and Students all learned about the five pillars, the various Mosques, how one prays five times a day, and the different fasting and food. Presented in the PowerPoint were pictures of the multiple attire men and women wear during the Ramadan period. Ramadan lasts for ONE entire month where Muslims worldwide fast to “give back to those who cannot eat.” Did you know that the Quran is the book that must be read during the month and it takes some people YEARS to finish it?
