Glenmont JCC Celebrates National Soup Day

Glenmont JCC Celebrates National Soup Day

On Monday January 25, 2016 Glenmont Job Corps Center recognized National Soup Day. Both students and staff made soups from all around the world. The Student Government Association and the Culinary trade program worked together-to make Chicken Noodle Soup and a White Bean and Ham Soup. Ms. Ferguson shared her hearty Baked Potato Soup, Ms. Pausley made a delicious Vege-table Beef Soup, and Mr. and Mrs. Van der Wouden recreated a family tradition Curry Soup. However, Mr. Battle, our Social Development Director took home the first place prize with his homemade Jamaican Curry Chicken Soup. The students loved all of the soups, but Mr. Battle won the competition with the most votes from students and staff. The students raved about how delicious all the soups were and how much they enjoyed the event.
Thank you to all of the students and staff who put in the hard work and participated in Glenmont’s Soup Day! A special thank you to Chef Beth Koster and her Culinary class for working with the Student Government Association and allowing us to use their kitchen.
