Glenmont Student Leaders Hold Youth 2 Youth: Partners for Peace Rally

Glenmont Job Corps Center’s Youth to Youth: Partnership for Peace ambassadors held their first program of the year to rally against bullying and violence on Thursday March 17, 2016 at 7:00pm in the auditorium. The event started off with our Y2Y ambassadors introducing themselves to the student body and informing everybody about the Youth 2 Youth mission. The event was a great success! Students loved the Life-Saver Game, which split the crowd into groups to answer questions and discuss issues with their peers. From there, staff and students shared their own experiences. Mohawk Dorm Supervisor Mr. O’Brey shared his experience of being bullied as a young man in school and how he overcame the negativity. The event closed with two special performances from students Christian Dixon and Chelsea Cassidy, who shared their stories through spoken word. After the performances, students and staff came together using hand paint to create a banner pledging against bullying and violence
