SPEND SOME TIME AT HOMESTEAD JOB CORPS CENTER REACHING FOR THE STARS

Homestead Job Corps Center STARS program recruits volunteer speakers, tutors and mentors to assist the HJCC students.  Volunteer Juanita Richburg Seon, owner of Curtain Call Unlimited, mentors HJCC Medical Records student Taquesha Miller.  Ms. Seon states “the satisfaction of sharing my life experiences with the young people at HJCC is so rewarding.  It also helps me to stay in touch with the thought patterns of today’s youth.”  HJCC student Ms. Miller says of Seon “She is someone great to talk with other than students.  Ms. Seon has taken me on volunteer opportunities.  She also has given me business ideas.  I hope for us to grow from one another.”

Crystal Downer graduated from Homestead Job Corps Center in 2009 and received her National certification as a Medical Assistant.  A student now at Miami Dade College, Downer takes time to mentor HJCC student Kimberly Umanzor.  HJCC STARS Coordinator Bernard Krogh invites others to do the same.  For More Information on how to volunteer with HJCC STARS program, please contact Bernard Krogh at 305/258-7164, Cell 786/925-9738, or you can email at krogh.bernard@jobcorps.org
