Humphrey students were charming as Santa’s helpers and elves at the local Langford Park holiday dinner with Santa and Mrs. Claus. It gave the students a chance to meet the one hundred and forty neighbors who attended. This annual event is a favorite in the neighborhood and draws families who enjoy a spaghetti dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, get a little face painting done, do a craft project and decorate cookies. Each child who visited with Santa got a teddy bear as a gift. The students helped to decorate before the party, serve the food and help with the crafts, but they most enjoyed their roles as Santa’s elves, entertaining the children. “They were great to work with,” according to Darcy Rivers, Recreation Director for Saint Paul Parks and Recreation, and the students enjoyed both the event – and the spaghetti – a lot. Some of the students said it was their best Christmas.
