An Iroquois Job Corps Success Story!

An Iroquois Job Corps Success Story!

Steven Rodriguez enrolled at the Iroquois Job Corps Center in early 2014 with a desire to help people after being trained in the medical field. He initially wanted to become a nurse however, once enrolled at Iroquois Job Corps he found that he would do well in a career as a Certified Medical Assistant. This would be the first example of Steven’s best strengths: flexibility and an ability to adapt and evolve. After graduation, Steven made the decision to attend college and enrolled at Niagara County Community College (NCCC). This was a tough decision due to Steven being from Long Island and being away from his family and friends. Toward the end of his first semester, he decided to continue college this time closer to home. He then enrolled at Nassau Community College for the Fall ’15 semester. This summer, Steven has been employed as a Life Guard for a summer camp and at an alarm dispatch agency and has been saving much of the money to buy a car. Steven was a model Student Employee while attending Iroquois Job Corps, working hard to complete his trade in a timely manner and make the most of the program. He has been a pleasure to work with since his completion of the program and should be used as an example to all on how to make the most of a Job Corps experience.
