Local Caribbean Organization Supports Job Corps Student

The Jacksonville job Corps Center partnered with the local Caribbean Connection organization to initiate a Caribbean Club on Center. Students who are from the Caribbean Islands such as Puerto Rico, Saint Martin, Antigua, Barbuda, Haiti, Jamaica, Dominican Republic etc. meet on a monthly basis to discuss issues going on in their home islands and educational goals. The organization’s goals are to provide a support and resource system for students interested in attending College.

Mr. Delroy Reid completed the Electrical Trade at the Jacksonville Job Corps Center and enrolled at Florida State College at Jacksonville. The scholarship that was received from the Caribbean Connection assisted Mr. Reid in moving to the next steps of his career path. Mr. Reid is interested in electrical engineering and plans to attend the University of North Florida when he completes his degree at Florida State College of Jacksonville.
