Jacksonville Job Corps Gives Back to Community

Students from the Jacksonville Job Corps Center provided over 460 community service hours within the last two weeks to Feeding NE Florida.  This agency is the newest effort to establish food security across 17 counties in Northeast Florida.  With an estimated 323,000 people in the region depending on area food pantries and charitable organizations for food assistance each year.  Within 6 months of the organization’s existence they distributed more than 5.5 million pounds of nourishing food and grocery products to 117 non-profits organizations.

The Jacksonville Job Corps Center is committed to the Jacksonville community, students volunteer on a weekly basis in order to give back for the gift they’ve been given through the opportunity to attend Job Corps.  In one day the volunteers sorted 9,902 lbs. of food for 8,252 families, our students are making a difference.
