On March 29 the Jacksonville Job Corps Center celebrated their 5th annual Women’s History Month Luncheon. The event took place on March 29, 2019 at the Jacksonville Job Corps Center. This year’s theme was “Empowering Women Through Visionary Leadership”. A panel of guest which included Ms. Kortney Wesley- Regional Director for Congressman Al Lawson and staff members shared their insight on career challenges and choices. The highlight of the luncheon was the presentation of the “Rise Up Awards for the female students and the Make it Happen Awards for female staff members. Seven female students recieved the honor of being recipients of the Rise Up Awards and 2 staff members were awarded the Make It Happen Award.

The audience was wowed by student entertainers that performed a dynamic dialogue about the roles of women in the home and workplace.
