November Game Night is a Real Winner

Game Night is a new tradition at the Joliet Job Corps Center.

It’s gaming, with a twist.

The Student Government Association recently started a new tradition at the Joliet Job Corps Center: Game Night. Held once a month, it’s not only fun, it’s a new way to learn.

Game Night was designed to assist students with their math, reading, critical thinking and team-building skills. Each student were given $100 in play money to purchase hygiene items such as detergent, toothpaste, toothbrushes and dryer sheets. Then they broke out the Monopoly board, the Twister set, the checkers and other games to see if they could earn more.

It was so much fun, that the leaders of SGA decided to do it again in December. Just in time for Christmas, the students will be able to buy gifts for their loved ones.
