You Only Get to Keep What You Give Away

It has been said if you continually give, you will continually have. This is why Little Rock Job Corps dedicated the entire month of October to “Making a Difference.” October 1st 10 students and the instructor from the HVAC volunteered helping to move a family associated with Women and Children First. The center also held fundraisers “Casual for A Cause” collecting money to be donated to various non-profit organizations. Males students were involved with collecting tube socks for veterans. Male students donated over 100 pairs of tubes sock to St. Francis House which supports homeless and displaced veterans. Several students and staff participated in Race for the Cure helping to fight for and find a cure for breast cancer. Females donated money and collected items for Women and Children First meeting their most significant needs at this time .

After a month long of activities designed to reach out and build bridges between people in need and people who care over 20 students and staff visited Woodland Hills Nursing Home on October 23rd. Students and staff visited the nursing home of residents and people with disabilities to deliver treat bags filled with all kinds of goodies, play games, sing, talk and just have fun with them. Students were able to bring about many smiles not only to the people they were visiting but to their own faces. They gave a smile and received several back. It is truly in giving to others, you’ll find yourself blessed and you only get to keep what you are willing to give away. Little Rock Job Corps is “Making A Difference.”
