Carpentry Home Builders Institute program at Loring Job Corps recognized for Community Service

LJCC Carpentry Home Builders Institute program instructed by Mark Brewer had articles and this picture below published in two local papers, the Star Herald and the Aroostook Republican. The Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce wanted to give thanks to the students that built the tables for the Chamber publically. The article gave an overview of several community service projects that the carpentry students were involved with this summer as well as comments outlining their vocational trade training by their instructor and BCL, Pamela Buck gave an overview of the multitude of Community Service projects being done by Loring Job Corps students throughout the Aroostook County. A news release was sent out from the Chamber stating the following.

News Release: Home Builders Institute, the Workforce Development arm of the National Association of Home Builders operates a training facility at Loring Job Corps Center. These students built picnic tables that are a great addition to our space at the Northern Maine Fairgrounds. Wednesday August 8th at 3:00pm, the students who constructed these lovely tables are coming for proper recognition of their efforts and to see where the tables are being used.
