MTC Los Angeles Job Corps’s new Business & Community Liaison Ms. Pearson has been swiftly developing new relationships in the community and aims to have prestigious internships for students. One of the two Congressional Internships she has established within her first 3 months is in the district office of Congressman Jimmy Gomez (CA-34).

There, ACT student Vincent Ferdin excelled by using his Office Administration training to provide clerical support to the staff while learning new skills serving as a Congressional Intern. After a few months, Vincent had a special opportunity of being featured in a MTC L.A Job Corps  Success Story video to help other prospective student and community members learn about the career paths available to our trainees.

The video is now featured on the MTC website and was sent to the Dept. of Labor to highlight an example of what our center is helping our students achieve.

Vincent received a small token of appreciation from the office and a lovely Certificate of Recognition for the completion of his Congressional Internship. He now has a prestigious professional reference to list on his resume for his work experience and realizes the countless doors that will open for him because of this opportunity he obtained through Job Corps.
