NH Job Corps Celebrates Earth Day with Adopt-A-Block Community Event and On Center Clean-Up

New Hampshire Job Corps Center celebrated our first Earth Day Event on Friday, April 22nd. Students & staff participated in helping to keep our center beautiful, this included raking, cleaning the grounds, planting flowers and cleaning the exterior of the buildings. Also, over 20 students and three staff members Juanita Jack-son, James Folopoulos and Peter Place participated in the community clean up event put on by Intown Manchester, “adopt-a-block” in downtown Manchester. Students engaged with other volunteers in the community when they picked up trash, swept and raked at Victory Park. Students & staff were able to wear their green Earth Day shirts and where also treated to a BBQ at lunch time. The students out in the community remarked “It was great to meet and work with other community members. I like being part of a big project like this.” Students and staff did an amazing job both on center and off center that will be an annual tradition here at New Hampshire Job Corps!
