MJCC Welcomes New Business Community Liaison, Brian Hancock

GREENVILLE, KY – Muhlenberg Job Corps Center recently promoted Brian Hancock, formally a heavy equipment operator instructor for MJCC, to the position of the business community liaison.

Hancock, a Muhlenberg county native, spent four years working for the Muhlenberg County Board of Education prior to accepting a position as an instructor for MJCC. He completed an associate’s degree in criminal justice and will soon be completing his bachelor’s degree. He has spent the past 20 years volunteering in youth ministries and coaching school sports. This has helped build an extensive background working in various areas of youth development.

“I have always enjoyed helping youth become the best version of themselves. This position of BCL not only contributes to youth work development, but it also serves to educate the public about the opportunities that are available to build a better future for our youth. For these reasons and many more I am excited to take on this new role,” said Hancock.

The role of the business community liaison primary involves public relations. The BCL is the bridge between Muhlenberg Job Corps Center and community partners including employers, legislatures, educators and families.

“Hancock brings a lot to this position and will be a great asset to the community network. His enthusiasm for the Job Corps program and motivation to help other succeed are exactly what it takes to make MJCC a high-performance center,” said Jodi Ashby, MJCC’s former BCL.

Center Director, Peter LaFleur, says that “Brian is ideally suited for the position based on his outstanding contributions as the centers heavy equipment operator instructor along with his previous business and education management experience.”

Hancock’s start date is officially Jan. 17, and he will be hitting the ground running as he supports the center’s efforts to fill the 343-capacity center with quality students, builds partnerships with quality employers, and represents MJCC within the surrounding community.
