Muhlenberg Job Corps seeks Non-Residential Students

Have you considered training at the Muhlenberg Job Corps Center but didn’t want to live on campus?  If so, now is the time for you to enroll.  The Muhlenberg Job Corps Center has available positions for non-residential students who are allowed to commute to the center daily instead of living on campus.  If you are an individual who needs to complete your education, we can place you either in the GED program or high school diploma classes. The Muhlenberg County Career High School at the Muhlenberg Job Corps is operated by the Muhlenberg Co. Board of Education. It is fully accredited by the Kentucky State Department of Education. Our high school teachers are Kentucky certified and provide intensive one-on-one assistance to students. The GED program is staffed by dedicated teachers who are also certified and provide excellent instruction leading toward the GED certificate.  You will also have the opportunity to choose one of the following Career Pathways:  Welding, Heavy Equipment Operator, Construction Equipment Mechanic, Class B Commercial Driver License, Certified Nursing Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, Insurance Claims Processing, or Pharmacy Technician.

Non-residential students have the same benefits as a student who lives on campus.  You would attend classes daily from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm.  You would also receive bi-weekly pay, trade uniforms, basic medical, vision, dental and mental health services, free meals, job placement services, and can attend all recreational activities and events.  We have an enthusiastic recreational staff that will keep you busy during leisure time in the recreational hall and gymnasium.  The recreation hall houses billiards tables, gamers lounge, theater and library.  Our gymnasium houses a barber shop, arts & crafts classroom, Ping-Pong tables, music room, and fitness room with treadmills, elliptical machines, and free weights.

If you are interested in enrolling as a non-residential student, please contact Karen Robinson, Business Community Liaison at (270) 377-3269 for more information.
