Muhlenberg ranks number 3 again

Greenville, KY – The Muhlenberg Job Corps Center in Greenville, Kentucky has outperformed 123 other centers in the nation for the month of December based on career technical, academic and job placement success. MJCC has ranked in the top ten every month for the past five months. The center was at #8 in August, #3 in September, #5 in October and November, and back to #3 in December. The Department of Labor ranks centers using a report card that measures on center program success and initial and long term quality job placement. Among the star performers from MJCC in the last six months, there are a number of confirmed wages of more than $25.00 per hour starting. These high wages were for commercial driving and welding graduates. In addition, there are numerous other initial wages of more than $16.00 per hour from the other career technical training programs offered at the center.
Since July of 2017, MJCC has had a 93.2% graduate placement rate. When you compare that with the average rate for college graduates of just 77% according to the National Center for Educational Statistics, it is clear that MJCC students are well trained, highly motivated and very successful.
These successes do not just attract the attention of prospective students. Employers are also noticing the benefits of the centers training programs. MJCC has partnerships with companies like the boilermakers union Local 40, TRANSCOR, Owensboro health, Brewer, and Brewco who support the training and employment of Muhlenberg Job Corps graduates.
MJCC center director, Pete LaFleur attributes the successes of the Muhlenberg Job Corps Center to the staff and students. “The staff truly have a student centered focus taking time to build meaningful relationships with them and provide support and guidance to achieve all the goals they have set for themselves”, said LaFleur.
MJCC is ramping up local recruitment efforts and has plenty of room for more applicants who want a bright future and a successful well-paying career. Center staff are very proud of their top 10 status in the Job Corps rankings and endeavor in the future to be number 1!
